Program Educational Objectives:
To prepare a new generation of microbiologists, capable of excelling in careers of their choosing.
To equip the students to apply knowledge of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cellular processes, classification, interaction of microorganisms among themselves, with physical and chemical agents and higher order organisms
To undertake research studies, collect relevant literature ,design experiment, use experimental techniques, analysis the results statistically, report and publish the findings
Job opportunities in pharmaceutical, food and bioprocess industries
Basics and current updates in the areas of microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology Immunology and genetic engineering (and Industrial Microbiology, Medical microbiology, Agriculture & Environmental Microbiology) are included to train the students and also sensitize them to scope for research.

Comprehend the core concepts, methods and practices in life sciences especially microbiology, biotechnology etc.,
Isolate, identify and characterize different types of microorganisms and their metabolites
Interpret the etiology of infectious diseases, their transmission, treatment, control and prevention methods.
Acquire theoretical basis and practical skills in the use of basic tools, technologies and methods common to different disciplines of life sciences.
Be proficient in the fundamental knowledge and recent trends/updates of different disciplines in microbiology.
